ABOUT
We offer a comprehensive performance training program for students ages 9 to 13 (Junior) and 14 to 20 (Senior) culminating in a combined high-quality concert series with microphones, audio, lighting, choreography, harmony, and a professional live band. Students audition to participate in these groups. Students who may not be quite ready to participate in the Junior and Senior groups or want a less intense experience are placed in the recreational classes to hone their skills for future terms.
COMMITMENT
Make sure you have read the full term schedule and commitment below before submitting an audition. Participants are permitted to miss up to three rehearsals only.
SCHEDULE
Term Rehearsal Dates: Saturday, January 24 to Sunday, May 10
Rehearsal times: Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. & Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Rehearsal Location: Emmanuel United Church, 22 Bridgeport Rd W, Waterloo, ON N2L 2Y3
Rehearsals will take place on Saturdays and Mondays on the following dates:

Saturdays: 7, (off for Family Day Feb 14), 21, 28
Mondays: 2, 9, (off for Family Day Feb 16), 23

Saturdays: 7, (off for March Break March 14), 21, 28

April 2026
Saturdays: 4, 11, 18, 25
Mondays: (off for Easter April 6), 13, 20, 27
May 2026

Monday: 4

PERFORMANCES
Show Week (Mandatory)
- Sunday, May 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Added rehearsal because of the short number of weeks.
- Monday, May 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Run-through at the church with the Junior group.
- Thursday, May 7 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Dress Rehearsal at the Humanities Theatre
- Friday, May 8 School Performance at 10:30 a.m. (called for 9:00 a.m.) and Public Performance at 7:00 p.m. (called for 5:30 p.m.)
- Saturday, May 9 Public Performances at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (called for 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. so there is a break between the end of the matinee at 4:30 p.m. and the call time for the evening at 6:00 p.m.)
- Sunday, May 10 Public Performances at 6:30 p.m. (called for 5:00 p.m.)

TUITION

- We continue to do the best we can to make Pop Nation affordable for everyone. We will offer payment plans and partial scholarships where possible.
- Costumes will likely need to be purchased. A “look book” is provided, and performers must have costumes that conform to those guidelines. Please have a look at photos on this site to get a sense of costumes.
