AUDITIONS

ABOUT
We offer a comprehensive performance training program for students ages 9 to 13 (Junior) and 14 to 20 (Senior) culminating in a combined high-quality concert series with microphones, audio, lighting, choreography, harmony, and a professional live band. Students audition to participate in these groups. Students who may not be quite ready to participate in the Junior and Senior groups or want a less intense experience are placed in the recreational classes to hone their skills for future terms.
COMMITMENT
Make sure you have read the full term schedule and commitment below before submitting an audition. Participants are permitted to miss up to three rehearsals only.
SCHEDULE
Term Rehearsal Dates: Saturday, January 30, 2027 to Sunday, May 23, 2027
Rehearsal times: Saturdays 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Rehearsal Location: Emmanuel United Church, 22 Bridgeport Rd W, Waterloo, ON N2L 2Y3
Rehearsals will take place on Saturdays on the following dates:

Saturdays: 6, (off for Family Day February 13), 20, 27
March 2027
Saturdays: 6, (off for Spring Break March 13), 20, 27
April 2027
Saturdays: 3, 10, 17, 24
May 2027
Saturdays: 1, 8, 15

PERFORMANCES
Show Week (Mandatory)
- Sunday, May 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (special added rehearsal)
- Monday, May 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Run-through at the church with the Junior group.
- Thursday, May 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Dress Rehearsal at the Humanities Theatre
- Friday, May 21 School Performance at 10:30 a.m. (called for 9:00 a.m.) and Public Performance at 7:00 p.m. (called for 5:30 p.m.)
- Saturday, May 22 Public Performances at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (called for 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. so there is a break between the end of the matinee at 4:30 p.m. and the call time for the evening at 6:00 p.m.)
- Sunday, May 23 Public Performances at 2:00 p.m. (called for 12:30 p.m.)

TUITION

- We continue to do the best we can to make Pop Nation affordable for everyone. We will offer payment plans and partial scholarships where possible.
- Costumes will likely need to be purchased. A “look book” is provided, and performers must have costumes that conform to those guidelines. Please have a look at photos on this site to get a sense of costumes.
