Submitting A Video Audition

  • Videos are large file sizes that cannot be emailed. We will not watch videos that are emailed. To submit a video audition, please record in horizontal mode and introduce yourself and your song before you sing.
  • Your video needs to be submitted using a link – it can be a Google drive link, DropBox link, or uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted video. Please make sure the permissions are such that we can access the file; do not make the file private.

Google Drive

  1. Upload your video file to Google Drive.
  2. Right-click on the file and select “Get link.”
  3. Under “General access,” choose “Anyone with the link.”
  4. Copy and paste that link into your audition submission form/email.

Dropbox

  1. Upload your video file to Dropbox.
  2. Hover over the file and click “Share.”
  3. In the settings, make sure the link is set to “Anyone with the link can view.”
  4. Copy and paste that link into your audition submission form/email.

YouTube (Unlisted)

“Unlisted” means that only people who have the link to the video can view it (such as the instructor team or family and friends to whom you send the link). An unlisted video will not appear in any of YouTube’s public spaces (such as search results, your channel, or the Browse page). An unlisted video is different than a private video. You can choose to make any of your uploads an unlisted video in your YouTube Account settings.

To upload a new video:

  1. Sign into or create your YouTube Account
  2. Go to your My Channel page
  3. If you need to upload a video, click on create a video or post (the camcorder icon in
the upper right banner), then upload video.
  4. Change the setting to upload the video as an “Unlisted Video” and select the video
from your desktop which you’d like to make an “Unlisted Video”. Click Done to confirm.
  5. Copy video URL link and include it when you submit your audition form
To edit a video you’ve already uploaded:
  6. Go to the Video Manager and click on the video.
  7. Go to Edit. Under Basic Information, you’ll see the option to mark your video as
“unlisted,” “public,” or “private.” 3. Select “Unlisted Video”.
  8. Don’t forget to click the Save Changes button.
  9. Copy the video URL link found to the right of the video in Video Manager (under
“video information”), and include this when you submit your audition form.
Please note that we cannot accept video auditions unless they are submitted as an
    “Unlisted Video” on YouTube.
